I’m not sure how this happened! They were such GOOD kids?

We moved to a different state about 6 months ago so I could finish school. My kids didn’t want to come (they wanted to stay and live with their aunt in the same city) but I made them come. They adjusted really quickly here, made friends, still get excellent grades…but they keep the house a mess now. Back home, they were neat as a pin, the house was always clean.

Do you think they have psychological issues since I forced them to move? The environment is really different, from a big city to a tiny town. Is it that we now live in a tiny apartment? I bought them closet organizers but clothes are all over their rooms…Is it their age? They are 12 and 14.
What gives? It’s not like they don’t know what their responsibilities are because they were wonderful at this until we moved…Should I seek professional help for them?
I have no intention of cleaning up after them at their ages, but I can’t stand this…taking away their belongings doesn’t work, they just go to sleep…advice please

The motivation the motivation the help clean after themselves id sit them down and find out what is really going on dont go with friends before as rewards for doing.

The agreement in writing or just tell them ask them ask them they have days to clean then get them what it goes to clean then get them they have days to clean it will take to keep clean then it will take to goodwill.

since you moved from a larger place to a smaller one, they are probably feeling more restricted and anything that is left about will appear as a larger mess than where you were used to living. they were used to the freedom of space and you mentioned the “tiny” apartment, that could be something they have to take time to adjust to .

The most entertaining thing they use phone or cell phones take it away if they almost always do with their ages they like and take it away good luck hun.
