Hey, creative people, help me with decorating my room?

December 28th, 2010
Kitty Cobain! asked:

I’m decorating my room today, and need help with ideas. I have three red walls, a yellow closet space, and the fourth wall is yellow. My bedding is black and white, so are the skirts for my dresser and nightstand and organizer. I can paint anything on my walls, and also put chalk on them. I have a chalkboard in there and a purple beanbag. It’s pretty small too. Any creative ideas for what I can do inexpensively? We have a TON of art supplies and basically, the sky’s the limit(:

How do you safely store books in your toddler’s room?

December 22nd, 2010
MissMoxie asked:

My son has piles and piles of books on top of his chest of drawers. I am trying to find a safe way to store his books. I’m afraid he’d try to climb a bookshelf and where we live we are not able to attach or mount the book case to the wall. (We’re currently living at my parents’ house.) I can’t find toddler safe bookcases anywhere and we currently have a two cube closet organizer on top of his chest of drawers and the books are jam packed in there and piled high on top. I don’t want to get another organizer because he likes to bang on hist chest and I’m afraid that if I pile things up too high they could come tumbling down on top of him.
He has a place for all of his many board books, in a storage basket on the floor. The books I’m talking about are his paperbacks and hardcovers which he’s not quite old enough to read or play with on his own without destroying.

How do I build a closet organizer in a closet with dormered walls?

December 22nd, 2010
JADIEN asked:

I am in the process of moving and the home I am moving to offers a very large room off of the master. I would like to turn this into a walk in closet. The problem is that all of the closet organizers I have found are for square rooms with straight walls. This room has slanted walls. From the floor to midway up the wall is straight, the other half of the wall is slanted. Can I transform this into an organized closet area and how?

How do I get and STAY more organized?

December 17th, 2010
jennabelle1993 asked:

I am in the process of organizing my room, which is VERY hard to do because it is so big. How can I get my clothes and closet organized? I have a lot of clothes and it’s hard to fit some of my clothes in the drawer when I am putting them away.
My closet is very hard to get organized. I have an over the door shoe organizer, which seems to help a little. I also have a over the rack organizer, but it only gets stuffed with clutter. My shelf on top, has a lot on it.

Then to top it all off, I have another organizer, but it is outside my closet. It has 8 drawers, 1. Hair supplies, 2. Makeup/ lotion, 3. Pens and pencils, 4. Pictures, 5. DS/ Computer games, 6-8 are random drawers.

Can you help me?

Where can I get a custom closet system in the Khobar/Dammam area?

December 10th, 2010
Miss_M asked:

I am thinking of something like the Shulte Freedomrail System, where you can put in shelves, long/short hanging, shoe organizer, drawers/cabinets, in the size, style, materials, and configuration you want in your bedroom closet, storage/pantry, laundry room. I’ve seen the Elfa system at Howard’s Storage, but the price of that is crazy high because it ships from Australia, and the salespeople at Howard’s are clueless about how to design a space and don’t even seem to know what components they sell and how much they cost. SACO has some components, but not enough to do much more than shelves. There used to be a place (near King Khalid Street, I think) that had California Closets, but it seems that they either closed or moved. Any ideas? Thanks!
Thanks, Mintee. I have the IKEA catalogue, but it seems like you have to be an engineer to design and order their products (brackets, legs, handles, screws…). I’ll check out the new place out by Extra (we call that road “the Extra Highway”–don’t know what it’s really called). Did you ever see a place in Khobar, somewhere near Swaiket and King Khalid Street, that sells customs closets? I can picture it on the east side of the road, but can’t remember which road!!! Thanks again.

teen room design ideas?

December 6th, 2010
Busola B asked:

HELLO!
My mom told me I could decorate my room all by myself as long as it’s under $750! That includes a new bed, paint, wall decor, comforter/pillows, and closet organizers, mirror and maybe just maybe a dresser(but i doubt it, i don’t really want one) Anyways i’m completly lost on how i wanna go about it. The one thing i KNOW is that i want a full size bed. My room is really small but i want it to look bigger. Umm, also i would like to incorporate black and white photography, zebra print(anything zebra) and a multitude of colors( pink, green, blue, purple) i’m a girly-girl but i want a type of modern chic look. oh i like fashion and anything stylish. my budget is a little low for all that i’m asking for but please try your best! oh! and some stores i’ve been looking at are walmart, target, pbteen, and ikea.(for their low prices) Please post links below of items you think i should put into the rooms:]Well thankyou!

If you were me, How would you respond to my Girlfriend’s E-mail? Please help - thankyou?

beat_this_program asked:

Hello Super Sexy, Thanks for your reply. I am so happy to hear your neck problem is better. Today I had to stay home from work because Nessa woke up ill with a fever. By about 9:00am I was also pretty sick, so we’ve both laid around much of the day. Sore throat & aches, sore eyeballs, nothing too major. We were well enough to make a run to Biscuitville and get a late breakfast nonetheless. While at home one of the repair people came by and fixed the upstairs sink. The problem with both the oven and dishwasher were both determined, but the man who came did not have the tools to fix. The diswasher’s “drain solenoid” is stuck open, thereby letting all the wash water out instead of keeping it inside the chamber for the wash cycle. And as imagined, the problem with the oven is indeed the thermostat. He said they might have to bring a new oven because the cost to repair this one is more than the oven is worth. That would be awesome to get a new one. I’ve taken down the shelves & vanity cabinet from your new room and have patched the holes in the wall, to prep for painting. I patched some holes in the bathroom as well where an old towel bar used to be that I took down when I moved in (to make room for the over-toilet organizer.) I think a new towel bar in the bathroom will not be needed because I’ve gotten hooks for towels that hang over mine & Nessa’s bedroom door. That also keeps the towels separate for sanitary reasons (not that anybody is dirty, but it is always nice to have a towel to yourself.) I am still working on the organization of downstairs– Nessa has a lot of toys & art supplies, and I have more books than I realized. I have moved stuff around several times to negotiate what might be the final layout. I think ultimately I will have to get some shelving for the overflow, which I picture being on the wall where the stairs meet, being out of the way of the main living space. The shared closet spaces downstairs are fully organized and I have 1/3 to 1/2 of the space opened up for your belongings. I am particularly happy with Nessa/my room, in fact I can hardly resist laying on the bed everytime I go in there and just take in the sense of relaxation. The pink color has a suprisingly strong relaxing effect. I made some “curtain” pieces from fabric to cover the front of one of the white pressboard organizers, and I might make curtains for the other ones too. I’m going to get another picture frame or too for some of Nessa’s artwork and photos, as opposed to thumbtacking them to the wall as I had done previously. It looks neater when the art is actually in frames. Hope to make a trip to Home Depot or Lowe’s sometime this weekend. Anyway, there is the update of how the house is going, and I hope you’ve had a nice day. I guess it is your day off? Well, looking forward to hearing how you are doing. Miss you a lot. Love Pumpkin

Help! I need to redecorate my room?

November 19th, 2010
♥☺♫Anna♫☺♥ asked:

Before I start, thanks for reading through this.

I am 13 years old, and I have a relatively small room. It is 11′x10.5′ and on one of the 11′ walls my door takes up 3′6 inches on the end, and on one of the 10.5′ walls my closet takes up 5′. I only have a bit of room for all of my furniture.
Furniture:
Desk
Chair
Bunkbed
3 bookshelves
Dresser
Bedside table

I really want to paint/redecorate my room as a summer project. My dad said I can paint it, but I want to make it fit me. It is a light blue-green right now, which I still like, but I want to change it up because it isn’t really me anymore like it was 4 or 5 years ago. I want to paint it with turquoise, blue, green, and purple stripes. I love to read and write music, so I want to designate space for doing them. My closet has a really small rack for clothes (I hung up a clothing organizer so I could fit more, and my formal stuff is on the space that is left). However, I also love horses, and I don’t want to pack away my model horses that I have, or my posters. I need ways to display them that are mature. My room is a little babyish for me now, and redecorating ideas would be amazing!!! So would links to websites, which actually would be preferable, although, if you have an idea, feel free to voice it. I want DIY ideas, and something on the low cost end, because you know how the economy is….
I really want a comfortable place where I can curl up with a book, OTHER than my bed….
I can’t dismantle my book cases. I have so many books that wall shelves would collapse, and I just got the bookcases and the desk six months ago, so they fit me just fine.
I wish I could separate my bunk bed and have two day beds, but I don’t have room, and I don’t want to remove one, because I have my girl friends over a lot for sleepovers (Such as next weekend) and I can’t ditch a bunk.
